The VR 2 will be discounted to just $399.99, down from the original $549 pricing when it launched in February 2023. 8K曾經是電視市場的熱門話題，不過發展多年仍未普及，如今熱度大不如前。全新鏡頭收購sony低調證實，暫時退出8K電視市場。
全新鏡頭收購sony最後一次推出8K電視已是2022年的事，當年主打的是Z9K系列，但自此就沒有後續機型。外媒FlatpanelsHd報導，全新鏡頭收購sony坦承，目前短期內沒有再推出8K電視的計畫，現有Z9K系列也已經停產，庫存產品賣完為止。

不過，全新鏡頭收購sony並未完全關上大門，表示未來仍可能重返8K電視領域，只是現階段「市場動能不足」。值得注意的是，全新鏡頭收購sony今年旗艦機型聚焦Bravia 8 II系列，重心轉向4K QD-OLED領域；不過台灣尚未發表2025年款新品。
